The fastest production convertible in the world. Also extremely rare with only 100 examples being built as a 2005 model. How fast? Well, it's electronically limited to 300kph (186mph), and it's really built for that level of performance. On a race track the CLK DTM can leave a V10 Lamborghini Gallardo struggling to keep up. The CLK DTM has a special supercharged V8 built by AMG with 582 hp and 590 lb. ft. of torque! That's enough phutzpah to propel the DTM 0-62 mph in under 4 seconds flat.
The AMG speedshift transmission technology is direct trickle down from F1. The five speed automatic can be left on it's own, or be shifted manually via paddles on the steering wheel.
Almost the entire interior is carbon fiber. Lots and lots of it.
Our friend Hiroshi is one of the 100 fortunate owners of this incredible piece of human engineering; AND his is all black! Was really something to go for a drive in a car like this - even though you couldn't begin to touch the performance of this car in downtown Tokyo. The best part of the DTM is that it's such a sleeper. Most people wouldn't even realize they were in the presence of such a supercar. For the people that do recognize this car for what it is, it would be Cho- Yabai Yo!!!
